Hockey Canada has partnered with Swiss Chalet to recognize U9 athletes for what they accomplish on and off the ice. The Most Valuable Teammates program celebrates players who work the hardest in practices and games, show their passion and demonstrate leadership in unique ways.

Teams are quick to celebrate what they achieve on the ice, but the Teammates program is about sportsmanship, selflessness and just being a good teammate. It puts a focus on all of the qualities that make hockey such an important piece of who we are as Canadians.

How does the program work?

U9 coaches request a Most Valuable Teammates pack. After practices and/or games, a player is presented with a Most Valuable Teammate certificate and totem, and receives a Swiss Chalet coupon for a free kid’s meal.

At a future practice or game, that player, with support from their coach, then awards the Most Valuable Teammate honour to the next winner, and players are recognized throughout the season.

Coaches, register now for your Most Valuable Teammates pack!

NOTE: This program is only available in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
