CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Hockey PEI Provincial Championships committee has selected the host locations for its 2020-21 season Provincial Championships. 

 

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, provincial championships will take place over two separate weekends across Prince Edward Island. The host locations will have an approved capacity of two (2) fifty (50) spectator cohorts. To add additional convenience for friends, family and fans of our Island minor hockey teams, host locations will also provide live streaming services. Details around where you can stream those games will be communicated through our media channels closer to event dates. 

 

The Round Robin portion of the 2020-21 Provincial Championships will take place from March 19th to 21st, 2021. The following venues will host those events:

 

  • U11, U13, U15, U18 Female Categories: Credit Union Place, Summerside. *Possible start date of March 18th

 

  • U11 Tier #1 & #2: South Shore Actiplex, Crapaud.
  • U11 “A”: Pownal Sports Centre, Pownal.
  • U11 “AA”: Pownal Sports Centre, Pownal.

 

  • U13 “A” Tier #1 & #2: O’Leary Community Sports Centre.
  • U13 “AA”: Credit Union Arena, Tignish.
  • U13 “AAA”: Credit Union Arena, Tignish.

 

  • U15 “A” Tier #1 & #2: Eastern Kings Sportsplex, Souris.
  • U15 “AA”: APM Centre, Cornwall. *Possible start date of March 18th
  • U18 “A” Tier #1 & #2: Cody Banks Arena, Sherwood.
  • U18 “AA”: APM Centre, Cornwall. *Possible start date of March 18th

 

The Championships portion of the 2020-21 Provincial Championship will take place from March 27th to 28th, 2021. The following venues will host those events: 

 

  • U11, U13, U15, U18 Female Categories: Credit Union Place, Summerside

 

  • U11 Tier #1 & #2: Pownal Sports Centre, Pownal.
  • U11 “A”: Pownal Sports Centre, Pownal.
  • U11 “AA”: Pownal Sports Centre, Pownal.

 

  • U13 “A” Tier #1 & #2: Credit Union Arena, Tignish.
  • U13 “AA”: Credit Union Arena, Tignish.
  • U13 “AAA”: Credit Union Arena, Tignish.


  • U15 “A” Tier #1 & #2: Eastern Kings Sportsplex, Souris.
  • U15 “AA”: APM Centre, Cornwall.


  • U18 “A” Tier #1 & #2: Cody Banks Arena, Sherwood. 
  • U18 “AA”: APM Centre, Cornwall.

 

All participants and spectators who are in attendance for either of the Provincial Championship weekend events may be subject to appearances made in an official photo or video capturing. These images/videos may be used as event promotional material to be featured across Hockey PEI media channels and those of their partners. 

 

Finally, as always – participants and spectators will be contact traced upon entering the facilities, must wear a mask and are to abide by all Public Health and facility COVID-19 guidelines while attending any Hockey PEI Provincial Championship event.
