CHARLOTTETOWN, PE — Hockey PEI is pleased to announce that Taylor Rix will be joining the staff for the summer months as the Administrative and Special Projects Coordinator. Hockey PEI thanks the support of the SkillsPEI Post Secondary Student Program.

Rix, originally hailing from O’Leary, PE will be entering the 4th year of a Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality at the University of Prince Edward Island this upcoming fall. Rix has previously obtained her Sport & Recreation Management Diploma from Holland College.

Having played minor hockey in O’Leary and for Western Wind teams, Rix is no stranger to Hockey PEI programming. She continues to play competitively with the Holland College Hurricanes, who compete against the likes of the Cape Breton Capers and Acadia Axewomen.

We are so lucky to have Taylor join our staff for the summer, as she will bring a tremendous complement to the team with her personality and sports background. She has a versatile skill set and experience that will be an asset to Hockey PEI this summer. We look forward to having her help push Hockey PEI forward into the 2020-21 season.” – Geoff Kowalski, Executive Director.

Rix will be largely responsible for supporting senior staff with special projects and initiatives, including member engagement, policy, and events. Rix’s first day in the office was on Wednesday, June 17.
