Development Day takes place Saturday, Sept 9

For a fourth year, Hockey PEI will offer a free Coach Development Day for minor hockey coaches in the province September 9th.  The development day will feature a Player Development seminar focused on the importance of Long Term Player Development and individual skill development.  This will include both classroom sessions and on-ice sessions with a focus on individual skill based drills for skating & puck handling, small area games and developing defensemen.

The seminar will be led by Corey McNabb from Hockey Canada and Bob Caldwell from Hockey Manitoba.

“This is a great opportunity to learn for coaches of all levels”, stated Hockey PEI President Barry Thompson.  “We appreciate the opportunity to have top quality instructors providing these services to our coaches and in return providing coaches with education and great resources to use with their teams”.

This year’s Coach Development Day will be held on Saturday, September 9th (9:00 am – 5:00 pm) on the UPEI Campus and the Bell Aliant Centre.

The seminar is open to all coaches of all levels and is free.  To register or for more information, please contact Hockey PEI Technical Director Mike White at or by phone at 902-368-4334.
