As a kid who played on the Rustico North Stars for his minor hockey career, Samuel Harding has seen just how much hockey means to a community. Whether it be supportive grandparents, siblings, parents, cousins or businesses, hockey touches everyone and brings people together.
A student of Bluefield High School, Harding recorded an average of 97% this past school year and will attend the University of Prince Edward Island Bachelor of Business Administration program. He recently received the UPEI guaranteed entrance award along with the Josh Gauthier Memorial Award.
Son of Clifton and Melanie Harding, the ambitious youngster has hopes to go on complete the law program at McGill University once he finishes up at UPEI where he then wishes to open his own law firm in the future.
On top of Harding’s hockey and academic life, he has been involved with many other extracurriculars including Soccer, Track & Field, Rugby and Cycling.
Hockey to Harding is everything and he will forever cherish the memories he has been able to create playing the game here at home.
This year, Hockey PEI is more than pleased to award Samuel Harding with the Jim Stirling Scholarship Award for his display of dedication to his sport and excellence in his education.
