Hockey PEI Staff | July 9th, 2021
CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Hockey Canada has announced its 2021 National Under-18 Women’s Team Summer Development Camp Roster. Canoe Cove native, Sarah MacEachern was amongst those named and will attend the camp from July 29th to August 5th at the WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.
Forty-six of the country’s top women’s under-18 players have earned invitations to this camp. The players – six goaltenders, 14 defence and 26 forwards – will be split into two teams and will participate in practices, skills sessions and intrasquad games during camp. The week also features games against the program’s NextGen athletes (born in 2003) who missed the entire 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Camp will serve as a final opportunity for the NextGen athletes to prepare for their upcoming college season as they continue to learn and develop under an experienced coaching staff.
In addition to MacEachern’s roster spot, Charlottetown, PEI native Paula McQuaid has been named to the team’s support staff as a Mental Performance Consultant.
Hockey PEI would like to congratulate High Performance Program alumni Sarah MacEachern and Paula McQuaid on being named to this National Development Camp and wishes them the best of luck.
