CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – With the recent announcement of Hockey PEI joining the Maritime Major Under-18 Female Hockey League and awarding two Island franchises, the following update is being provided by Hockey PEI Female Hockey Council Chair, Erin Ostridge as it relates to player boundaries:

  • Those players who reside / are registered under the boundaries of North River Minor Hockey Association and all associations west of that district will be required to play with the Summerside Western Capitals U18 Female Franchise.
  • Those who reside / are registered under the boundaries of Charlottetown Minor Hockey Association and all associations east of that district will be required to play with the Charlottetown Islanders U18 Female Franchise.

To review Hockey PEI’s Boundaries in detail, please click HERE: www.hockeypei.com/members/governance/ and view Regulation 20 – Association Boundaries on page 40 of the Hockey PEI Constitution.

*Those who are successful in making a roster at the Under-18 female level would be signed to a card and dues paid thereafter, therefore no registration is required in their home association.

Players who do not report to their proper team as per the above boundaries would be in violation of the player movement policy and subject to discipline.

Hockey PEI would like to thank membership for its cooperation in this matter.
