CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – As communicated to membership on February 8th, Hockey PEI will be moving to gameplay beginning on February 17th. Following both Minor Council and Female Council meetings, the following dates were set as they relate to Minor Hockey Operations:

“A” Level Male Leagues:

  • All teams are expected to complete their existing scheduled games by March 7th, 2022. Leagues will then be tiered at that time. Tiering will be calculated on total points as of March 7th, 2022, and not win percentage.
  • Regular season will be completed by April 17th, 2022.
  • Provincial Championships to be held on April 22nd to 24th, 2022.

“AA” & “AAA” Level Male Leagues:

  • These Leagues will begin with playing their existing scheduled games.
  • These Leagues have until April 10thto complete games.
  • Provincial Championships to be held on April 14th, 16th, 18th (No games on the 15thor 17th).

Female Leagues:

  • All teams are expected to complete their existing scheduled games by March 7th, 2022. Leagues that are being tiered will be done so at that time. Tiering will be calculated on total points as of March 7th, 2022, and not win percentage.
  • Regular season will be completed by April 10th, 2022.
  • Provincial Championships to be held on April 14th, 16th, 18th (No games on the 15thor 17th).

League Coordinators will work with teams to ensure schedules are completed prior to the tiering process (for those who do tier) and prior to the Provincial Championships/Playoffs (for those leagues who do not tier).

Furthermore, spectator capacity limits will rise to 50% beginning on February 17th. Associations and teams are asked to work with their respective facilities on what those capacity limits will look like.
