CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Hockey Canada has released its National Women’s Program Summer Selection Camp Roster. High Performance Program alumnus Sarah MacEachern (Canoe Cove, PE / Etobicoke) was amongst those named. A total of 142 from coast to coast to coast received invites to this first of its kind combined women’s program camp presented by BFL Canada.
Last week, Charlottetown’s Shannon MacAulay (Hockey Canada) was named to the National Women’s Development Camp Team as their Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Additionally, Jackson Slauenwhite (Charlottetown Islanders / Niagara Ice Dogs) of Charlottetown has been named to the National Women’s Under-18 roster as the Team’s Mental Performance Consultant. Dave Cameron (Kinkora PE / Ottawa 67’s) who is also in Calgary as part of the 2022 World Junior Championship event will assist as a skills coach with the National Women’s Program amongst his Head Coach duties with World Juniors.
“This is a great opportunity to bring all three groups together in one place and start to envision what the next four years will look like,” said Director of Hockey Operations, Gina Kingsbury. “We are coming off a very successful season and we are looking to continue building on that. We have a full complement of experienced staff to lead our camps but having our Olympic athletes able to play leadership roles where they can mentor and share their experience is a positive step in our journey towards the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan.”
The camp begins in Calgary on Wednesday, August 3rd at the WinSport Arena.
