Event takes place March 12 at Credit Union Place

This weekend many young female players will descend on Summerside for a year end Hockey PEI Novice Female Jamboree.  The event will take place on Saturday March 12th at Credit Union Place.

The Jamboree featuring all female Novice players will be composed of 10 teams from throughout the province for a one day jamboree to celebrate the female game.  All teams will play 4 on 4 mini games and will include a skills development session during the day for all players.  The skills development session will be led by Hockey PEI instructors with the assistance of players from the UPEI Panthers.

“This jamboree is a great way to end the season and to help promote and celebrate the female game on PEI,” stated Hockey PEI Chair of Minor Council Al MacIsaac.

“Having such opportunities to bring together all female players together for an event is a positive step and helps with the growth of the game.  We are very pleased with the response and look forward to a great day with the participants.”

Teams participating in the jamboree include:  Capital District 1, Capital District 2, Down East Girls, North River Chocolate Cupcakes, North River Vanilla Stanley Cupcakes, Pownal Crushers Novice A, Pownal Pink Panthers, Summerside, Tyne Valley and Western Novice Girls.
