To celebrate Canada 150 the Ottawa International Hockey Festival, in partnership with Canada 150, Hockey Canada and the Ottawa Senators, invited Peewee House League (Recreational) teams from across the country to enter the Canada 150 Rink – “Hockey on the Hill” Contest for a chance to win a trip of a lifetime!

This year’s Bell Capital Cup Hockey Tournament will feature a Canada 150 Division comprised of 16 male and 16 female Peewee House League teams selected to represent their province, territory, or region from December 28-31 in Ottawa on the Parliament Hill Canada 150 Rink.

Across PEI, the contest was open to all Pee Wee “A” male and Pee Wee “A” female teams.  The winning entries were selected by the Ottawa International Hockey Festival.

Representing the province of PEI are the following Hockey PEI teams:

  • Female Division – North River Pee Wee A Flames
  • Male Division – Pownal Pride Pee Wee A  (Team #2)

Congratulations to both teams on being selected to attend this prestigious event in Ottawa!

Winning teams receive:

  • Round-trip travel to/from Ottawa for each player and up to 5 team officials
  • Accommodations from December 27-30
  • Transportation while in the nation’s capital
  • Guaranteed a minimum of three tournament games with a minimum of one game to be played on the Canada 150 rink on Parliament Hill
  • Commemorative set of Canada 150-OIHFerick Jerseys

As part of the contest all teams had to submit a short, thirty (30) second video and a brief, 250-word essay, demonstrating why they deserved to represent their province, territory or region at this year’s Ottawa International Hockey Festival by displaying creativity, energy and Canadian Spirit.
