CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – For the 2021-2022 season Hockey PEI will be piloting a U15AA Female division. Based on the ask of all Minor Hockey Associations in the province to express interest in hosting a team, the following have stepped forward to be part of the pilot project and we thank them for their interest.

  • Capitol District (Sherwood/Charlottetown) 1 team
  • Pownal (Pownal/King County) 1 team
  • Wildcats Zone 1 team

Any females in the Western Zone who may wish to try out for a team will be welcome to apply for a 1-year transfer under “Program Not Offered” in their Zone and tryout for the Wildcat Zone team.

Once the U15AAA Zone teams are confirmed, each of the associations hosting AA teams are welcome to begin their tryout process under their association regulations once the coaches have been selected.

With the remaining “A” teams throughout the province, we will look at continuing to host an Island Wide division. We will be implementing tiering and reserve the opportunity to review all teams and their placement at the time that this occurs.

In addition to the pilot project, the U15 Female hockey we will be tiering at all divisions in female hockey for the 2021-2022 season. The details surrounding this will be made at such time that we understand how many teams are in each division.
