CHARLOTTETOWN, PE - Another Hockey PEI High Performance Program (HPP) event is set to get underway this weekend with its annual Under-16 Male Development Camp taking place at the Bell Aliant Centre in Charlottetown. The camp will run from Friday evening until Sunday, May 28th and features Under-16 male players from across the island.
This camp is the first step of the Under-16 Male HPP process for players looking to crack the roster for Team PEI that will compete in the regional Under-16 event in Dieppe, New Brunswick this October. The regional event is also the first leg in the road to the QMJHL Cup, a highly scouted event that takes place in Blainville-Boisbriand annually in May. Hockey PEI players will get the chance to make one of two Team Atlantic Rosters selected to attend out of the regional tournament.
The U16 Male Development Camp will include on-ice skill sessions, practices, fitness testing, classroom sessions featuring HPP alumni as guest speakers and will ultimately finish off with game action on Sunday.
This weekend's camp is open to the public. Best of luck to all participants!
