CHARLOTTETOWN, PE - Hockey PEI is aware of and extremely disappointed by the incident that occurred during a Under-18 Provincial Championship game in North Rustico on Saturday, March 29th, 2025.

What took place on the ice was a disgraceful representation of our game and completely contrary to the values of good sportsmanship, respect, and safety that Hockey PEI upholds at every level of play.

Members of our Suspension & Player Safety team are currently conducting a thorough review of the incident. The reports from game officials, video footage, member history, and statements from those involved will also be examined by our Discipline and Ethics Committee. Indefinite suspensions are pending and additional discipline will be determined using both Hockey PEI and Hockey Canada suspension guidelines following this review.

We take these matters very seriously and will ensure appropriate action is taken. At this time, we will not be providing further comment until the review process is completed

Hockey PEI remains firmly committed to providing a positive, respectful, and safe environment for all participants in our sport.
