SUBJECT: RECENT COVID-19 CLUSTER PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
As a result of the recent cluster of cases announced in the Summerside area yesterday evening, the Summerside Area Minor Hockey Association (SAMHA) has cancelled all programming for Friday, February 26th and Saturday, February 27th out of an abundance of caution until further investigation by the Chief Public Health Office (CPHO) can be completed. This includes all SAMHA home games, away games, practices and any other team activity.
Hockey PEI supports the decision made by the SAMHA executive and will continue to work closely with them in the coming days, should any new relative information arise.
The recent cases announced on PEI serves as a good reminder to our members island-wide that it is crucial to be following all CPHO guidelines daily, and especially when participating in Hockey PEI sanctioned events.
