CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – As a result of the latest pause in hockey activities due to an increase COVID-19 numbers, Hockey PEI’s Minor Council would like to remind Associations and its members of the current protocols implemented by Chief Public Health Office (CPHO) for any of those members considering ice rentals.
- Venues may permit private rentals for personal gatherings only (no teams or existing user groups)
- Personal gatherings must follow current protocols which is immediate family members plus their steady 10 other people.
- Participants 12 and older must show proof of vaccination.
The intent of CPHO is not to have teams split to make up the “steady 10” for practice purposes. The “steady 10” are the same 10 individuals associated with the family unit.
Should COVID-19 tracing identify an ice time as being used as a practice, disciplinary action will be taken by Hockey PEI.
*The QMJHL (Charlottetown Islanders) & MHL (Summerside Western Capitals) continue to be exempt from these restrictions and may continue activities should their league allow with added public health measures.
