HOCKEY PEI MEMORANDUM
TO: HOCKEY PEI MEMBERSHIP
DATE: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 3RD, 2021
SUBJECT: RETURN TO CIRCUIT BREAKER MEASURES
As announced by the Chief Public Health Office today, Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021, Prince Edward Island will be moving back to the Circuit Breaker phase, effective at midnight tonight.
Circuit breaker measures will continue to be in place until Sunday, March 14th at 8:00 AM. As a result, Hockey PEI will revert to its previously announced changes to its Return to Hockey Plans effective, Thursday, March 4th, 2021 until further notice:
- Individual and team practices will resume with up to 50 people permitted within your on-ice cohort.
- The ability of parents to attend practice sessions is contingent on facilities’ operational plans. Where facilities do allow entry the total number of coaches, players and parents may not exceed 50, as per CPHO guidelines. Facilities have the final say based on their specific operational plan.
- All gameplay continues to be prohibited.
- All tournament play continues to be prohibited.
- A continued effort must be placed on accurate contact tracing and record keeping.
Hockey PEI asks all its members to abide by Public Health measures to allow us to return to normal as soon as possible. Hockey PEI remains committed to the completion of the 2020-2021 hockey season, including Provincial Championships.
We will provide further information as it becomes available. We thank you for your understanding as we continue to work through these unprecedented times.
