CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Hockey PEI Officiating Committee experienced some changes to its executive over the off-season. Assignor Darcy Dunn has committed to a new challenge in his work life, which will require a significant time investment and is no longer able to commit to the assignor’s role.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Darcy for his excellent work last year. He did all that was asked of him and much, much more,” said Hockey PEI’s Manager of Officiating, Paul Matte.

Following a request for candidacy and interviews, the Hockey PEI Officiating Committee has announced their new Senior Assignor for the 2019-2020 season. Brent Servos has been selected to take over the reins following Dunn’s departure. Servos has been a part of Hockey PEI’s Senior officials group for the past number of years as an on-ice official, and also officiates for the Summerside Area Hockey Association (SAMHA). With his new role, Servos will turn his focus to the administrative side of the game while remaining as an on-ice official for SAMHA.

After the off-season change, the Officiating Committee is structured as such:

Manager of Officiating – Paul Matte
Director of Supervisions – Steven Green
Director of Development – Derek Pierce
Female Director – John MacDougall
Assignor – Brent Servos
Minor Hockey / Senior Officials Liaison – Nolan Cornish

Hockey PEI’s Senior Body Officials Training Camp will take place at Credit Union Place in Summerside from September 20th-21st and will consist of a series of on-ice and off-ice testing along with classroom sessions.
