CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Maritime Junior A Hockey League (MHL) held its 2022 entry draft on Friday evening, with 120 of the best young hockey players in the region selected to the league’s twelve teams over the course of ten rounds. The first two rounds were carried live on Eastlink Community TV and on Eastlink’s YouTube channel. The Eastlink North dominated the first round, with ten of the twelve picks. Neither the Canadian Tire Cup champion Summerside Western Capitals nor the Eastlink South champion Truro Bearcats had a selection in the opening round.

Hockey PEI’s High Performance Program alumni had the spotlight shined on them in hopes to see their name come across the screen in this year’s virtual draft. A total of thirteen (13) Islanders were selected by various MHL clubs on Friday.
