CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) held its 2022 Entry Level Draft presented by Fenplast beginning with Round one (1) on Monday evening followed by rounds two (2) to fourteen (14) on Tuesday. 

Hockey PEI’s High Performance Program alumni had the spotlight shined on them in hopes to see their name come across the screen in this year’s virtual draft. A total of twelve (12) Islanders were selected by various QMJHL clubs on Tuesday. 

The highest selected Islander was Lincoln Waugh of Wilmot Valley who was taken 48th overall in Round three (3) by the Cape Breton Eagles. Waugh suited up for the Charlottetown Knights of the NB/PEI Major U18 Hockey League this past season and recorded nine (9) goals and fifteen (15) assists for a total of twenty-four (24) points in twenty-nine (29) games played. He was also selected to be a member of Team Atlantic Under-16 in which he attended the highly scouted QMJHL Cup event in Quebec during the month of April.

  • ROUND 7 – PICK 126 – ROUYN NORANDA HUSKIES – Justin Smith (Stratford, PE)
  • ROUND 10 – PICK 179 – CHARLOTTETOWN ISLANDERS – Evan Nicholson (Stratford, PE)
  • ROUND 12 – PICK 208 – RIMOUSKI OCEANIC – Aiden Diamond (Stratford, PE)
  • ROUND 12 – PICK 215 – CHARLOTTETOWN ISLANDERS – Rylan Aiken (Cornwall, PE)
  • ROUND 13 – PICK 233 – CHARLOTTETOWN ISLANDERS – Seamus MacEachern (Charlottetown, PE)
  • ROUND 13 – PICK 234 – ACADIE-BATHURST TITAN – Ethan Dickson (Summerside, PE)
  • ROUND 14 – PICK 240 – QUEBEC REMPART – Dawson Sharkey (Murray Harbour, PE)
