HOCKEY PEI MEMORANDUM
TO: HOCKEY PEI MEMBERSHIP
DATE: TUESDAY, MARCH 9th, 2021
SUBJECT: UPDATE REGARDING STATUS OF REGULAR SEASON AND PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Hockey PEI’s Board of Directors remains committed to the safe execution of both Provincial Championship weekends as previously announced. Under current CPHO guidelines, the 2020-21 regular season will not resume. If the Circuit Breaker is lifted on or before March 14th and games can be played under CPHO guidelines, Hockey PEI intends to proceed with Provincials.
Due to the unequal number of games played within leagues during the 2020-2021 hockey season, Hockey PEI’s Board of Directors has approved the winning percentage to qualify and place teams for this year’s Provincials. Win percentage is determined by dividing the (number of wins plus ties x 0.5) by the total number of games played for each team.
All tiebreakers will be settled, as in any other season, using Regulation 28 of the Hockey PEI Constitution. Hockey PEI’s Minor Council has verified the final standings below, and this will be communicated to the teams through appropriate league coordinators.
If you have any further questions, please contact Executive Director Connor Cameron.
Regards,
Robert MacMillan, Hockey PEI Minor Council Chair
Mike Hammill, Hockey PEI President
